Carol is a mother, sister, grandmother, Fitness Pro, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, friend, Facebook friend and she’s also a cancer survivor!

Carol is also one of my clients and she reached out to me on Facebook in 2011 because some of the strategies I was sharing were producing incredible results in her business.

I asked her if she’d be willing to share that experience on camera and that marked the first interview with Carol and the first I saw her beautiful face.

In late 2011, Carol reached out again on Facebook to let me know of her health struggle – breast cancer. I was quite floored because she was the picture of health and she was a Fitness Professional. I’ve kept in touch with Carol as much I could and referred her to a people who could help.

Cancer is the kind of news that makes you feel powerless in helping others.

A few months ago Carol reached out again with the reality of dealing with breast cancer in the U.S. and the financial burden it has left on her family.

I suggested we take her story to the widest possible audience to see how she can get the support she needs – that’s why we decided to get on camera to share Carol’s story of courage.

I first met Flow Coach, Oren Harris, in L.A. in May 2011.

A mutual friend asked Oren to come by and spend time with me.

The question I had for Oren was “how do I get rid of all negative thoughts”?

It was driving me nuts that I knew I needed to vibrate at a high level in order to take my business to where I wanted it to be and I kept fighting these negative thoughts that were creeping up and telling “there’s no way you’ll be able to do that”.

The interesting thing is that I had attended a service at the Agape spiritual centre and Rev. Michael Beckwith explained that more and more people were afraid of their thoughts – especially if they have any negative ones.

So I wanted to know if it was bad to have negative thoughts?

My hour with Oren was such an eye-opening experience because I understood that thoughts, words and feelings are three different dimensions of manifesting the life and business of my dreams.

I asked Oren to come on the show and share that with others who might be fighting or resisting the fact they have negative emotions and might think it’s a bad thing.

The reality is that few people walk around with all positive thoughts, that’s just not being human.

Oren reveals the secret and correlation between our thoughts, words and feelings!

Composing a Life by Mary Catherine Bateson (1989)

I must have underlined every other sentence in it! It speaks to life as an art form and web of relationships and how we, as women, women compose our lives in relationship to one another. We weave a fabric together from the threads of our relationships and what we learn from one another.

Anne Morrow Lindberg’s Wisdom from Gift from the Sea (Mini Book) has always held a special place in my heart. Years ago, I went to Sanibel and picked up the shells that represented the different phases of life that she described. I have had these shells displayed in my home for over 25 years. They never collect dust because they are such a treasure to me.

Olga Pechnenko-Kopp is the CEO of McElroy Translation in Austin, Texas. Native to Kaliningrad, Russia, Olga studied marketing at the Baltic State Academy and held the marketing manager position for Kakadu, a chain of pet stores. Her marketing experience as well as her fluency in English led her to a sales position at McElroy Translation in 2005 where she was quickly promoted to Business Development Manager.

Olga left McElroy Translation to launch multiple startups where she managed business development and marketing. Olga also ran her own marketing firm, Results Marketing, where she created and executed marketing strategies for small businesses.

In 2009, upon recognizing the need for a cultural and strategic shift within McElroy Translation that would position it for growth, Olga presented a business plan to the McElroy family. I first read about Carrie White’s story in the New York Times just as she was launching her book. I remember thinking “what a story”.

Carrie White has seen it all – alcoholism at a young age (her Mother had her prepare drinks for her and her boyfriend when Carrie was 6), sexual abuse, fame, being at the top of her field, hanging out with the top celebrities of the 60s and 70s (can you say Cher?), being a mom (she has 4 kids), severe drug abuse, loosing it all and getting back on top again!

Gosh, I’m tired writing that sentence, I can just imagine living that life.

What I love about Carrie is how honest she is about revealing the many events in her life that lead her to reach rock bottom (aka getting on of her kids to do a drug run for her), to sobriety and now success.

I received Carrie’s book right before I was leaving for Paris and my intention was to read her book on the plane, but when I saw the size or it, I realize 1) this was not a travel pocketbook 2) this deserve my undivided attention (hard to do while admiring Paris’ many beauties).

I am finally reading Carrie’s book “Upper Cut: Highlights of My Hollywood Life” and I could barely read the first few pages because her story (her beginnings) is so “hard”. Not long ago, I tweeted her about that and her response to me was “sweetie, if I could have lived through it, you can read it”. She’s right!

Carrie’s book is what I call “personal development in action”.

So many “Gurus” write about personal development, but many have never experienced rock bottom and then picked themselves up again.

When you read a Byron Katie or a Debbie Ford, you connect with these women because at some point they had their faces (literally) on the bathroom floor, but managed to turn their lives around in such a beautiful way.

During my interview, I asked Carrie how she held all the pieces of her life together AND took care of kids WHILE dealing with a drug problem. Her answer is telling:

“I was taking care of all four of my children when I had my business, it’s a common title: a Functioning Alcoholic. We drink to push and we drink to relax.”

I respect women like that who are willing to be “real” and that is why I have so much respect for Carrie White.

What women entrepreneurs will learn from this insightful interview?

Carrie is now Carrie White Hair Beverly Hills! She might be in her 60s (and I still cannot believe I’m writing this because she looks 45), but Carrie is a successful business owner now and she’s rocking the Beverly Hills Socialites’ “coiffes”!

Another thing you should know about Carrie is that she is “genuine & welcoming”. I approached her for an interview and she’s a Beverly Hills celebrity hairdresser, after all, who could have said “who are you?”, but instead Carrie was so eager to share her story in the hopes that she might touch another woman and I cannot tell you how blessed I feel that she agreed to this interview.

This is a double celebration for me because this marks my 100^th published interview!

It also highlights my intense interview with Jennifer McLean!

I had been following Jennifer’s Healing with the Masters Series for a while and admired how influential she was in the human potential industry! That said, I wanted this interview to focus on how she had managed to build a massively successful multi-million healing business from her home office in California!

Thanks to the power of Facebook, I was able to catch her attention and she graciously agreed to be interviewed.

When I started all of this, if you had told me that I’d interview someone from Slovenia, I would have said, “I don’t know anyone living in Slovenia”!

Sonja van den Bosch has an amazing story!
